TIFF greatly appreciates our partners, supporting the 21st edition of the film festival, which are “TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION” as the special partner as well as “Coca-Cola (Japan) Co., Ltd.”, “KINOSHITA CORPORATION, LTD” and FUJISOFT INCORPORATED as official partners. The involvement of respected partners is outlined below.
As the special partner, TOYOTA is providing extensive support to the film festival, which is turning over a new leaf in 2008. A new environmental award, “TOYOTA Earth Grand Prix”, has been established this year. It will be presented to the film which most celebrates the beauty of the earth out of all the films screened at the festival. In addition, TOYOTA’s new environmentally-conscious car, due to be unveiled in October 2008, has been chosen as the official car of the film festival, and it will make an appearance at this year’s highlight on the Green Carpet. TOYOTA is also supporting “Natural TIFF”, a new section for the screening of films under the theme of “Ecology.”
As an official partner that has continued its sponsorship since 2005, in support of the film festival’s “ecology for protecting the planet” philosophy, this year Coca-Cola Japan intends to provide a “green carpet” that uses materials from recycled PET bottles as well as to install environmentally-friendly, next-generation “e40” vending machines in the environmental booth at Roppongi Hills.
Kinoshita Corporation supports film productions in view of the importance of people’s physical and mental satisfaction in all aspects of life. Hereby, Kinoshita gives exclusive supports to the 21st TIFF, which is the place of origin for new culture.
