Aim
To capture and to introduce the trend of one of the most prolific filmmaking regions of the world: Asia and the Middle East.
Eligibility
1. Asian-Middle Eastern film
| Must be a film by an Asian or Middle Eastern director. |
2. Release Date
| Date of commercial release in Japan must not be prior to the closing date of the festival. |
3. Guest Invitation
| The director is invited to attend TIFF for maximum 5 nights during the festival. Airfare (economy class) and accommodation fees will be borne by TIFF. |
4. Screening Material for selected film.
| a) | All materials, from 35mm to video format are accepted. |

| b) | Must be in the original language version with English subtitle. |
| c) | Japanese subtitles shall be made and screened using electronic subtitling system, paid by TIFF. |
| d) | Shipping costs to Tokyo, plus insurance fees while in transit should be borne by participants. TIFF will pay for the return transportation charges. |
All exceptions to the above regulations can be made at the discretion of the TIFF Selection Committee.
