TIFF's commentary on loss of the director, Jun Ichikawa

We are extremely surprised with the untimely passing of Mr. Jun Ichikawa and offer our sincere mourning for his death. The director, Mr. Ichikawa's new film, buy a suit will screen at the Japanese Eyes section of our main program this year. Mr. Ichikawa created this film with the use of HD Cam in the manner of self produced film. He was known as the director of various masterpieces as such as The Tokyo Siblings, Tokyo Lullaby and Toni Takitani, just to name but a few. His films enjoyed the well deserved reputation from the film festivals of the world. He has returned to his cinematic origin with his film, buy a suit.

Mr. Ichikawa's latest film will also be his posthumous work and the Tokyo International Film Festival will succeed his ardor and enthusiasm for the Japanese films.
