animecs TIFF 2008 Programming Director : Yoshihiko Furuyama

"animecs TIFF," has been favorably received by festival guests every year.
This year's lineup will include a retrospective of films by Osamu Tezuka to
commemorate the 80th anniversary of his birth.
He was known not only as the "The God of Manga," but also as a great animation pioneer,
and the lineup will include 10 films under the theme of "The Spirit of the Experimental Animator."
There will also be the long-awaited premiere screenings of Japanimations, including a brand new
film from Madhouse directed by Shoji Kawamori, the creator of the new "Macross" series film,
together with a special talk show.
