History 20th Tokyo International Film Festival  Lineup

This year, Tokyo International Film Festival celebrates the 20th edition which is a year of the milestone. The various films were brought together through establishment such as newly created World Cinema section and the special project, Tokyo in Focus.

Also, His Imperial Majesty has attended the "The Invitation from Cinema Orion" shown at the Special Screenings section for the first time in the Film Festival History,

The SEI-YU KO-EN Live with Yosuke Yamashita gathered wide range of audience and brought back the silent movies, produced more than 80 years ago, vividly to the modern world by joining the powerful stage performance of the Jazz pianist, Yosuke Yamashita and the live voice over of the voice actor, Michio Hazama.

Also, at the outdoor venue of Roppongi Hills Arena, the event will be held by inviting directors of the Special Screenings, films from the Competition section and Japanese Eyes as the guest of the talk show with entertaining stories about the film making. TIFF movie café was established to provide a place of communication for Film Festival guests and retrospective photo exhibition was held to commemorate the 20th Film Festival.

The great number of the film fans participated in TIFF before the screening as well as after the show.
